Translate

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has introduced an online Ghana Card replacement service for Ghanaians living in 11 countries, allowing them to replace their cards without travelling to Ghana.

The Executive Secretary of the NIA, Wisdom Koku Deku, announced the development in a Facebook post on Monday, October 19, 2026, saying the service had been added to the Authority’s online application portal.

The service is available to Ghanaians living in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, France, Italy, Belgium, Germany and Denmark.

Applicants can access the service through the NIA’s online portal at register.nia.gov.gh, providing an alternative for Ghanaians abroad who need replacement cards.

Mr Deku also announced that the service was available at all Prestige 24/7 Centres in Labone, Sakumono, Bantama and Suame. The Amakom Prestige 24/7 Centre is expected to begin offering the service soon.

He added that applicants who prefer to visit a Premium Centre could also access the replacement service through the online portal.

An update service is expected to be introduced soon as part of efforts to expand the Authority’s digital services.

The NIA says it remains committed to delivering efficient and accessible services to Ghanaians.
