Mandia takes the helm of PNP Northern Mindanao

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Seasoned field commander Brig. Gen. Aaron Mandia has been appointed director of the Police Regional Office in Northern Mindanao (PRO-10).
This comes following the designation of Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano as officer in charge of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
Mandia, who previously served as PRO-10’s deputy regional director for administration (DRDA), brings at least two decades of career service across Northern Mindanao to the regional command’s top post.

Maj. Joann Navarro, PRO-10 spokesperson, confirmed to the Inquirer on Sunday Mandia’s new role as OIC PRO-10 director.

Navarro said the leadership change was made known on Saturday.
Originally from the island-province of Marinduque in the Mimaropa region, the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) graduate spent a major portion of his senior law enforcement career stationed across Region 10.
Before his stint as DRDA, Mandia served as Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) chief from July 2021 to mid-2023.
During his two-year tour in the regional capital, he prioritized anti-criminality campaigns and promoted transparency by decentralizing media access to precinct commanders.

His regional track record also earned him recognition as PRO-10’s Best Senior Police Commissioned Officer for Operations for two consecutive years, in 2021 and 2022.
This follows key enforcement actions against illegal mining, smuggling and major regional security operations.

Mandia succeeded Abrahano, a member of the PNPA “Kaagapay” Class of 1996.
Before heading PRO-10 and his subsequent appointment to Metro Manila’s police force, Abrahano served as director of PRO Caraga and briefly as chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG). /apl
