GMA anchor and host Arnold Clavio has filed a cyberlibel complaint against the alleged bodyguard of former congressman Zaldy Co.

Mario Ceniza Jr., the ex-bodyguard, accused Clavio of being one of the media personalities who accepted a paper bag filled with money from Co. Co is accused of being one of the masterminds in the multi-billion flood control scam.

In a "24 Oras" report on Wednesday, Clavio said that this was not an act of revenge. He wanted to seek the truth since the accusation has affected his name as a journalist.

Ceniza made the allegation against Clavio during a press conference in June.

“Na-assign po ako sa isang PR na taga-media na si Bernard Peralta. Doon ko po nakita yung mga nabibigyan ng paperbag na mga anchor, na mga taga-media, kagaya po ni Arnold Clavio. At doon po muna at sa affidavit ko na lang po,” said Ceniza during the June press conference.

(I was assigned to a media PR practitioner named Bernard Peralta. That is where I saw anchors and media personalities being given paper bags, such as Arnold Clavio. Let's leave it at that for now, and I will detail the rest in my affidavit.)

Clavio has already denied the claims made against him, calling them laughable.

“Talk is cheap. Bago ang dada, ebidensya muna,” Clavio said in a previous statement. (Before talking big, show the evidence first.) —Jean Mangaluz/LDF, GMA News
