King renews Putin’s invitation to visit Malaysia through PM Anwar at Brics summit

NEW DELHI, Sept 12 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim conveyed warm regards from His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia to Russian President Vladimir Putin during their bilateral meeting here yesterday.

“Sultan Ibrahim sends his personal regards,” Anwar said.

The Prime Minister also reiterated Sultan Ibrahim’s invitation to Putin to make a state visit to Malaysia.

Sultan Ibrahim, who ascended the federal throne on January 31, 2024, has visited Russia three times.

His Majesty made a state visit to Russia in August 2025, followed by a special visit in January 2026 and a visit to Moscow in May for Russia’s Victory Day celebrations. — Bernama
