"Jacki Chan had passed the age of 71 now he's 72, kung-fu legend," the post read.

The rumours began circulating widely over the past 24 hours, with a black-and-white image of Chan carrying the dates “1954-2026” being shared across social media. The post in question amassed over 7 million views.A community note confirmed that the viral claim is a hoax and that the actor is 'alive and active at age 72'.

Chan, who has enjoyed a career spanning decades across Hong Kong and Hollywood cinema, was last reported to have made a public appearance in Singapore in July, when he visited Pei Chun Public School as part of an event.

There, he reportedly interacted with students and staff and engaged in activities.
