Lawyer's house among 3 damaged in Rawang fire

KUALA LUMPUR: The house belonging to lawyer Mohamed Haniff Khatri Abdulla was among three terrace houses damaged in a fire at Bandar Country Homes, Rawang, early this morning.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received an emergency call about the incident at 3.06am.
"A total of 15 firefighters from the Rawang Fire and Rescue Station, assisted by personnel from the Batu Arang Fire and Rescue Station, were deployed to the scene, about eight kilometres from the station.
"Firefighters arrived at the scene at 3.17am and found that the fire had involved the upper portions of three two-storey terrace houses.
"The estimated damage was 80 per cent to the first house, 20 per cent to the second and 5 per cent to the third," he said in a statement.
Ashrul Riezal said the fire also destroyed about 90 per cent of a Perodua Axia.
"No casualties were reported in the incident.
"The fire was brought under control at 4.08am before the operation was fully concluded at 6.35am," he said.
