MANILA, Philippines — Visayas and Mindanao will experience heavy rains due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) while Luzon will see fair but hot and humid weather on Wednesday, according to the state weather bureau.

In the 5 a.m. weather forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration, weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said the ITCZ, or the convergence of winds coming from the northern and southern hemispheres, will bring cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms over Visayas and Mindanao. Meanwhile, Luzon will be taking a break from the effects of the southwest monsoon or habagat.
