MANILA, Philippines — The northeast monsoon or amihan and easterlies will continue to bring rains to parts of the country on Thursday, Nov. 5, according to the state weather bureau.

In its 5 a.m. weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said weather specialist Obet Badrina reported that amihan would affect Northern Luzon, while the easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, would mostly affect Southern Luzon and the rest of the country.

“Light rains due to amihan will prevail over Batanes and the Babuyan Islands, while the rest of the Cagayan Valley Region, including the Cordillera Administrative Region and Ilocos Region, will experience isolated rain showers,” he added.

He also said Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, including Palawan, would experience localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Eastern Visayas and Caraga regions, particularly in the Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte.

The rest of the Visayas and Mindanao will see fair weather, with chances of rain showers.
