Jennifer Lawrence's changing face as actress, 36, confirms cosmetic surgery and reveals plans for more

She was just 19 when she filmed her breakout role in Winter's Bone, propelling her into the spotlight and launching a glittering career.

And nearly two decades on, Jennifer Lawrence looks unrecognisable after undergoing several cosmetic tweakments.

While many stars prefer to keep tight-lipped on their cosmetic procedures, Lawrence has proudly admitted to having Botox and a boob job.

The actress, 36, said this week she went under the knife because she 'wants to be a sexy mom' – and added that she has plans to have a facelift in the future.

From her role as a fresh-faced teenager in The Hunger Games to her recent hopes of becoming a 'sexy mom', Lawrence has always kept fans captivated by her looks.

Lawrence is renowned for her role as the fresh-faced Katniss Everdeen when she was just 20 years old.

While she's been in the spotlight for years, the Oscar-winning actress looks far younger than her years – so, what are her secrets?

Dr Hassan Galadari, an aesthetic doctor and dermatologist, believes Jennifer has undergone subtle tweakments to help her achieve a natural look.

He told the Daily Mail: 'Jennifer has always been a natural beauty, and what's particularly interesting is how she's maintained her youthful appearance while her features have become more refined and defined over the years.

'Comparing earlier photographs with more recent images, her face appears slightly slimmer, with greater definition around the jawline and cheekbones, while her eyes appear more open and refreshed.

'These are the types of changes we can achieve with subtle aesthetic treatments, including Botox to soften expression lines, skin-tightening technologies such as Morpheus8 to improve firmness and contour, and carefully placed injectables to maintain facial balance.

'Of course, we can't determine which treatments Jennifer has undergone simply by looking at photographs.

'What I particularly like about her appearance is that she still looks very much like herself. Her features remain natural, and that's exactly what good aesthetic medicine should aim to achieve.'

Jennifer confirmed she underwent plastic surgery because she felt her body 'didn't bounce back' after the birth of her son last year.

The actress welcomed a baby boy with husband Cooke Moroney in April last year. They also have another son, four-year-old Cy.

She said: 'At drop-off, I want to look like a woman that has her s**t together even when I've just woken up and don't have my s**t together.'

She had the surgery before having to strip off on camera for Martin Scorsese's What Happens At Night, which has now wrapped up production.

The actress said the prospect of filming a nude scene spurred her on to have the procedure but she still would have had it done without the film, telling The Cut: 'Maybe I wouldn't be hustling to the appointment in the same way.'

Prior to her latest interview, Lawrence opened up to Vogue about her beauty practices.

Speaking with the fashion magazine last month, she said she gets Botox in small doses, sharing that she 'can't really get very much done'.

'I need to have movement in my face – I get baby Botox, but I can't do a lot,' the Hunger Games star added.

She also listed her reliance on facials, explaining, 'If my skin is going to be a little saggier than I would like, at least it looks dewy and pretty.'

The Oscar winner admitted that she 'would love to have a buccal fat removal', but added: 'I can't because everybody would know.'

But amid the furor, the Daily Mail spoke to a plastic surgeon to weigh in on whether there were other possible cosmetic tweaks that Lawrence may have undergone.

Dr Melinda Lacerna Kimbrell, a double board-certified plastic surgeon and owner of LA Plastic Surgery, speculated: 'The most obvious procedural changes appear to be around her eyes.'

'There is substantially more upper-lid visibility, less hooding and elevation of the outer brow.

'That pattern strongly suggests an upper blepharoplasty, possibly combined with a brow lift and a lateral eye lift,' she added, based off images of the star.

The specialist, who has performed more than 1,000 facelifts but has not treated Lawrence, said that her midface 'appears higher' and added: 'There may also have been selective fat grafting around the lower eyelid and upper cheek, although the area beneath her cheekbones looks markedly hollow.'

Kimbrell did offer that non-surgical treatments could have played a part in Lawrence's seemingly altered face.

She questioned whether 'significant weight loss' had contributed to her new look with her lower cheeks appearing 'almost sucked in, creating a much narrower and more angular face'.

In reference to Lawrence's taut complexion, the doctor suggested it looked 'exceptionally smooth and even, which could be consistent with laser skin resurfacing'.

'However, editorial lighting, makeup and retouching can significantly exaggerate improvements in skin texture,' Kimbrell added.

She concluded: 'The hair extensions add another layer to the transformation. The tremendous length and volume frame her face very differently, making her new facial proportions appear even more dramatic.'
