Zeekr expands into Sarawak as Malaysian customer base tops 5,000

KUALA LUMPUR: Zeekr Intelligent Technology Malaysia (Zeekr Malaysia) has expanded into Sarawak with its first retail presence in Kuching, as the electric vehicle (EV) maker's customer base surpassed 5,000 nationwide in August.
The company is working with Ghee Hua Group of Companies, which signed a dealership agreement with Zeekr in July, to strengthen its retail and aftersales network in East Malaysia.
It plans to open a dedicated Zeekr Space Kuching showroom and service centre in the first quarter of 2027.
In the meantime, Zeekr has introduced a mobile service programme across Sabah and Sarawak to provide maintenance and vehicle inspection services.
Zeekr Malaysia general manager Eddy Lu said Sarawak was an important market for the company's expansion, citing growing interest in premium electric vehicles.
"The opening of our first retail presence in East Malaysia marks an important milestone for Zeekr Malaysia as we continue expanding our footprint nationwide.
"Sarawak is a strategically important market with growing interest in premium electric mobility, and this new presence allows customers to experience our products and services more directly.
"Together with Ghee Hua, we look forward to building long-term relationships with customers and supporting the growth of EV adoption in the region," he said.
The company's initial retail presence is a pop-up store at The Spring shopping mall in Kuching, showcasing its Zeekr 7X, Zeekr 009 and Zeekr X models.
