#NSTviral: Buffaloes roam Bukit Raja roadside, sparking social media buzz [WATCH]

Translate

KUALA LUMPUR: A video of four buffaloes roaming along a roadside in Bukit Raja here has caught the attention of social media users, with the post garnering more than 6,700 views on Threads.

The clip, shared by Threads user @ayieesb, shows the animals walking along a grass verge beside a main road as vehicles pass by.

"For those driving near the Bukit Raja area, be careful, there are buffaloes on the loose.," the user wrote.

Several users linked the sighting to flooding in the area earlier in the day.

"So many incidents in the Bukit Raja area today, with the floods too," wrote user @tiarasy10.

Another user, @lailayayang, claimed the buffaloes had roamed the area for decades, back when it was still largely made up of estates and plantations.

"Now that their place is increasingly being destroyed by humans for so-called development, they're dwindling. When I was little, there were really a lot in the Bukit Rajah estate. Pity the original inhabitants of the Bukit Rajah estate," the user wrote.

User @therootcauseanalysis took a lighter view of the sighting.

"Bandar Bukit Raja residents don't hire grass cutters anymore, they just use buffaloes now. Enough food for a month," the user wrote.
