The Accord Party in Ogun State has unveiled a 13-member campaign council ahead of the 2027 governorship election and pledged to create 550,000 jobs if elected.
The party made the pledge on Friday during the unveiling of the campaign council at its secretariat in the state.
The state chairman of the party, Rotimi Oke, said the council would coordinate its campaign across the state.
He said the party had studied the programmes of other political parties preparing for the 2027 election and claimed Accord offered a different alternative to voters.
He said, “The 13-member campaign council has been carefully selected to coordinate the party’s campaign across the state.
“We have waited this long to see what other parties that are in the race for the 2027 general elections could do in the state, and we have seen that they all lack the substance that our party is made of, coupled with what we intend to offer the people of Ogun State.
“This campaign council is chaired by our governorship candidate, Alhaji Olaniyi Agbongboakala; my humble self is the Vice Chairman; the Director General who will see to the day-to-day running of the team is Alhaji Toyin Azeez; Hon Dasaolu Babatunde is the Deputy Director General, while Mr Ayodeji Daodu is the Secretary”
Other members are Fatai Adejare Salaudeen, Director of Protocols; Olufemi Sodipo, Director of Logistics, Operations and Mobilisation; Abdulrohim Olowu, Director of Special Duties; Samson Abiodun Falodun, Director of New Media and Communication; Omolade Iyaloja, Women Leader and Mobilisation 1; Adeyero Omobolanie Oluwakemi, Women Leader and Mobilisation 2; Qudus Bisiriyu, Youth Leader and Mobilisation 1; and Ajetumobi Lateef, Youth Leader and Mobilisation 2.
Oke urged members of the council to mobilise support for the party, accusing the All Progressives Congress-led government in the state of poor performance.
The party also honoured a recently retired traffic warden with the Ogun State Police Command, DST Hanifat Bello, for what it described as her exemplary conduct and 35 years of service.

Bello received an Award of Excellence, a cash gift and a deep freezer during the event.
Oke said the party decided to honour the former traffic warden to encourage younger people to embrace diligent and selfless service.
“DST Hanifat Bello is such a rare officer, she is always in the sun, in the rain doing her job very diligently. She is really a good ambassador of the state,” Oke said.
He also criticised the state government for not honouring Bello before her retirement.
Speaking after presenting the gifts, Agbongboakala said the gesture reflected what he described as the party’s commitment to workers’ welfare.
He pledged that his administration would prioritise road rehabilitation, education, healthcare, poverty reduction and youth empowerment if elected.
“For our first four years, we shall generate 550,000 jobs. We are not just mentioning figures; we have the template. We shall generate jobs from the blue economy, circular economy, green economy, the real sector, the creative industry, among others,” Agbongboakala said.
He also pledged that pensioners would receive their gratuities within 90 days of retirement and said workers would receive improved remuneration under an Accord government.
Agbongboakala further announced the launch of the party’s “Light Up Project”, with 300 solar-powered streetlights to be deployed across Ogun’s three senatorial districts.
He said 100 streetlights would be installed in each senatorial district during the pilot phase of the project.
