(Asiad) Boxer, table tennis player to carry N. Korean flag at opening ceremony
NAGOYA, Japan, Sept. 19 (Yonhap) -- North Korean boxer Hwang Hyo-sun and table tennis player U Tae-ryong will serve as their country's flag bearers at the opening ceremony of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Saturday, organizers said.
The Asian Games organizing committee announced a list of flag bearers representing 46 participating nations, including a refugee team, for the Games opening ceremony to be held at Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium in the main host city of Nagoya later in the day.
Hwang will compete in the women's 55-kilogram event, while U will participate in the men's singles, doubles and mixed doubles events in table tennis.
During the ceremony, North Korea, which uses the official name DPR Korea at the Asian Games, will enter the stadium eighth, following China in alphabetical order. North Korea registered a total of 107 athletes in 14 sports.
South Korea will march 16th among the participating delegations, based on its Asian Games name, Korea, while host country Japan will enter last.
