KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 5 — National professional men’s doubles pair Chia Weijie-Teo Ee Yi continued their impressive run in the Korea Open Badminton Championships by marching into the quarter-finals at the Jinnam Stadium in Yeosu today.

The Malaysians, who stunned fourth seeds and world No. 11 Chen Bo Yang-Liu Yi of China 21-14, 21-19 in just 34 minutes in the opening round, were again in their element as they needed just 28 minutes to overcome world No. 38 He Zhi-wei-Huang Jui-hsuan 21-9, 21-19 in the second round.

The world No. 39 Weijie-Ee Yi will face either the Malaysian-South Korean combination of Goh V Shem-Choi Sol-gyu or Japan’s former world champions Takuro Hoki-Yugo Kobayashi in the last eight.

Meanwhile, national women’s singles shuttler K. Letshanaa’s campaign came to an abrupt halt after she suffered a 10-21, 12-21 defeat to world No. 1 An Se-young of South Korea in the second round.
