Veteran actress who starred in Jerry Lewis comedy steps out with Miss Golden Globe daughter... can you guess who?

Translate

They are a mother and daughter who have a family connection to a legendary filmmaker and carved out successful show business careers of their own.

The mother was considered a blonde bombshell during her Hollywood heyday in the 1950s and 1960s, and her daughter had an award-winning career on stage and in film.

The matriarch was in the short-lived but memorable TV Western series Johnny Ringo, and won a Golden Globe for her role as the amorous young bride in the 1954 film The High and the Mighty starring John Wayne before playing a lovestruck nurse in The Disorderly Orderly opposite Jerry Lewis.

Her daughter served as Miss Golden Globe Ambassador for the 1990 Golden Globe Awards in her early 20s. It was her official Hollywood entry.

The two looked stylish in bright outfits with perfectly coiffed hair as they attended an event in Los Angeles together this week.

Can you guess who they are?

This veteran actress, 92, was considered a blonde bombshell during her Hollywood heyday in the 1950s and 1960s and was married to a legendary filmmaker

If you guessed Karen Sharpe and Kat Kramer, you are 100 percent right.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Sharpe and Kramer via their production company for further comment.

Sharpe, 92, bore some of that old movie star glamour in a turquoise blazer over a black turtleneck sweater and black pants, a look that was accessorized with turquoise jewelry.

Kramer, who was born shortly after her famous parents' marriage in 1966, stood out in a red blouse with ruffled details and black pants that highlighted her red hair.

And she proved she's got a daring style as she clutched a unique Rolling Stones purse.

Sharpe was married to famed film director and producer Stanley Kramer, who was responsible for such iconic films as The Defiant Ones (1958), On the Beach (1959), Judgment at Nuremberg (1961) and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967).

They had two children, Katharine or 'Kat,' as she was always called, and Jennifer, who was born in 1968, and the filmmaker also had two children, Casey and Larry, from a previous marriage to Anne Pearce whom Sharpe helped to raise.

They remained married until the filmmaker's death in 2001 at age 87.

With her figure and striking hair, it's no wonder Sharpe was one of the most glamorous stars ever to grace the big and small screen.

Her first role was in the film Army Bound (1952). Next, she appeared in a string of films including The Sniper, Holiday for Sinners, Bomba and the Jungle Girl and Strange Fascination.

In 1955, Sharpe won a Golden Globe Award in the New Star of the Year – Actress category for her performance as Nell Buck in The High and the Mighty (1954).

In 1959, she went on to star as Laura Thomas in the TV Western series Johnny Ringo opposite Don Durant, Mark Goddard and Terence De Marney.

The series ended after only one season but she made an impression, given the numerous guest-starring television roles that followed. She appeared in Gunsmoke, Bonanza, The Wild Wild West, Rawhide, Gomer Pyle – USMC, The Man from UNCLE, and I Dream of Jeannie among others.

Other film credits included Mexican Manhunt (1953), Man with the Gun (1955), and The Disorderly Orderly (1964) opposite Jerry Lewis.

In 2022, Sharpe revealed she had been sexually assaulted and harassed by the comedian on the film's set. It was the last time she would ever work with him. Lewis died in 2017 at age 91.

Sharpe retired from acting in 2021 and her last film was Fate's Shadow: The Whole Story.

The daughter of Hollywood royalty appeared on stage and won awards for her roles as Helen Keller in The Miracle Worker and Anne Frank in The Diary of Anne Frank.

Kramer appeared in the films Going Shopping (2005), What Just Happened (2008) and Little Fockers (2010).

She was named after the late screen icon Katharine Hepburn, who starred in her father's feature Guess Who's Coming to Dinner alongside Spencer Tracy, Sidney Poitier and Katharine Houghton.

Kramer has served as the West Coast representative of the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center.

She won a Best Supporting Actress award at the 2019 LOVE International Film Festival for her role as Fran in the indie film Turnover.

She also appeared in the 2023 documentary Call Me Kate about her namesake Hepburn.

In 2024, Kramer was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Luxury Oscar Gala presented by Samira’s Network, according to her bio on her website.

She continues to have projects in the works as an actor and producer.
